Members of the 3rd Assembly have considered and approved the Murang'a County 1st Supplementary Budget 2022-2023.

Key highlights in the budget is the allocation of funds for ward development projects suchs roads and infrastructure, scholarship and bursary to needy students especially those in day schools, revamping of the ECDE feeding program that had stalled (with the prevailing drought majority of the young children fail to attend school whilst few survive on one meal per day), the budget further provided for renovation of ECDE classrooms.

Under this budget and the subsequent others that will be approved, major reforms in the health sector will be implemented among them is H.E. the Governors' flagship health program dubbed " Kang'ata Care" geared to provide free enahnced NHIF cover to the eldery and expectant women and enhanced service provision in major hospitals and dispensaries in Murang'a.

Notably, the supplementary budget has also made provision for paid internship programs thus providing the unemployed youth majority an opportunity for gainful employment.
