Members of the Second Assembly took oath of office on September 4, 2017 following the general elections held on August 8, 2017, and went ahead to elect Hon. Nduati Kariuki to serve as the Speaker of the Assembly for another term.

Regrettably, during the year 2020, the 2^nd Assembly lost one of its Members, Hon. Cyrus Kiiru Mwangi, MCA, Gaturi Ward. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

Subsequently, Hon. Esther Mwihaki Kamau was elected as the succeeding Member of the County Assembly to represent the people of Gaturi Ward.
